A globalização chegou.

Why Should Anyone Work Here?

Rob Goffee's new book has been announced to be released on November 3, 2015.

source: https://hbr.org/product/why-should-anyone-work-here-what-it-takes-to-create-an-authentic-organization/13959-HBK-ENG

« Suppose you want to design the best company on earth to work for. What would it be like?
For three years we’ve been investigating this question by asking hundreds of executives in
surveys and in seminars all over the world to describe their ideal organization. This mission
arose from our research into the relationship between authenticity and effective leadership.
Simply put, people will not follow a leader they feel is inauthentic. But the executives we
questioned made it clear that to be authentic, they needed to work for an authentic organization.»

.............................

Description

It used to be that businesses could ask individuals to conform to the organization's needs. But now leaders are charged with creating the best company on earth to work for: they must transform their organizations to attract the right people, keep them, and inspire them to do their best work.
In "Why Should Anyone Work Here?" Rob Goffee and Gareth Jones identify the six key organizational attributes to do just that. In separate chapters, they delve deeply into each one:
1. Let people be themselves
2. Practice radical honesty
3. Magnify people's strengths
4. Stand for authenticity (more than shareholder value)
5. Make work meaningful
6. Make simple rules
With vivid stories and examples, the authors illustrate the kind of strong, attractive workplace culture that leads to sustained high performance. They also provide ways of assessing how your company is doing, and describe the tensions and trade-offs that leaders must manage as they transform their organizations.
"Why Should Anyone Work Here?" is the question all contemporary organizational leaders must constantly ask themselves if they want to survive and thrive in the new world. This is the book that will help them answer that question.

QSP Summit 2014

«The Multichannel Opportunity» é o tema do programa deste ano... a oitava edição!

principais oradores: Bob Phibbs, The Retail Doctor; Ziv Carmon, professor do INSEAD

principais entidades representadas: Twitter, TripAdvisor, LinkedIn, Whole Food, Continente (Sonae), e-bay, PayPal, Planet Retail, POPAI, Google, APED, etc...

......................... Why should you attend the QSP Summit 2014? ..............................

By attending the QSP Summit, you will benefit from at least 6 different reasons why attending a GREAT conference is always one of the BEST ways to turbocharge your leadership and your business (special thanks to Steven Sonsino for his inspiration on this):

reason 1 – you get a one-day full immersion in Marketing and General Management related topics: please just have a quick look on the Summit programme:

4 distinguished speakers: Bob Phibbs (known as The Retail Doctor, author of the book «The Retail Doctor's Guide to Growing Your Business») | Ziv Carmon (INSEAD Chaired Professor of Marketing in Memory of Erin Anderson) | Luis Martinez-Ribes (Retail Innovation Expert) | Miguel Osório (CMO and Board Member at Sonae MC)

4 case studies: Twitter | TripAdvisor | LinkedIn | Whole Foods
Facebook |e-bay | Cisco | Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (São Paulo)

1 out of 4 optional workshops: A Google perspective regarding e-Commerce and the Retail sector | Recruitment on LinkedIn | Out of the Box | optional expert’s panel RETAIL TRENDS FORUM: Susana Voces (Head of Merchant Development; eBay Espanha) | Estanis Martín de Nicolás (Dir. Geral; PayPal Espanha e Portugal) | João Günther Amaral (Head of Innovation; Sonae) | Bill Tolany  (Head of Promotional Commerce; Whole Foods) | moderation by Malcolm Pinkerton (Research Dir. for E-Commerce; Planet Retail)

reason 2- you will meet people who really understand what you do: more than 700 marketeers and senior managers attended the Summit last year. This year we expect more than 800 participants

reason 3 – more business, more leads, and more high-level opportunities: please keep in mind that the quality of the people at a conference often correlates with its price tag. You will generally meet more successful people at the events that cost more. It is not difficult to figure out why that is.

reason 4 - deals on continuing education, coaching and more: attending live programmes is a great place to check people out and decide whose material you want to get and who you want to continue learning from; the QSP Summit includes an exhibition area for vendors and sponsors complete with a bookstore.

reason 5 – visit Porto and have fun in a tax deductible way: to make sure you will get OUT this time and visit the city, there is a special pack available that includes a 2 nights stay at the Sheraton Porto & Spa Hotel (single or double), a city sightseeing, a visit to the Porto wine cellar, a cruise on the Douro River and a tour of the Serralves Museum, each for one person. Maybe you should bring your significant other with you and enjoy Porto together?

reason 6 - access the “Gurus” – in person: the speakers at live events are usually very accessible. You will most likely find them hanging out in the hallways, in the lobby, and in the coffee bar or the bookstore. You can easily catch a few minutes of their time and ask a quick question or discuss a point they made in their presentation. This is an extremely rare opportunity – you can’t just call these folks up and get them on the phone! This type of access is priceless and will also get you more exposure and credibility.

and more.....

Negotiation Course for Executives | Ingemar Dierickx

Last week I had the pleasure to welcome Ingemar Dierickx once more time in Porto.

I have been working with Ingemar Dierickx for more than ten years.

I have had the privilege to organize and observe several of the workshops that Ingemar has run for many executives at Sonae (the number one retailer in Portugal, with two major partnerships in the telecommunications and shopping centers sectors).

Each time, I have been struck by the level of energy and enthusiasm of the participants during those workshops. Years later, former participants fondly recall anecdotes and key lessons learned and voice their admiration for Ingemar.

The results of these workshops are visible. I believe that part of the success of Sonae Group is due to Ingemar's teachings
